amarelo

I counted three at a glance, but it could be four or more, all the same color, that yellow we used to paint the sun with when we were little. Then I'd sprinkle the sky with some blue clouds, despite their being white, gray or even dark. Maybe it wasn't the same yellow, it was many years ago, my eyes are no longer the faithful canines they used to be, and it was only at a glance, on that curb in the road. Getting older sucks in general, pains become familiar, small cracks in memory and pieces of life leaking away, hair growth in cavities that are not lacking, senses affected and withering every year, but on the upside intuition sharpens, patience becomes an ally, victories acquires a more intense flavor, one learns how to enjoy time, and even death in a fond way. Silence… I'd almost dare to say that that specific tone only nature could make, distinct in the palette, vibrant, almost burning the pupil but exhuberant, without losing vitality, between lime and lemon, butter, pure but not loaded as the Dutch's cornfields. They flew all together, three or four nymphs, in perfect sync as if they were one, in a brief glance, at the roadside dancing the first warm days, suspended in waiting at that late hour that separated us.
